About Kyla Guru
Kyla is a 2018 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing national recipient who has always dreamed of being an influential figure in the field of STEM. At just 16 years old, she is the Founder and CEO of Bits N' Bytes Cybersecurity, a company that now sustains more than 25 national partnerships with school districts, nonprofit organizations, education-based organizations, and members of U.S. Congress in order to increase awareness of cybersecurity. Kyla also leads a high-school team in organizing the GirlCon Chicago Conference annually, Chicago’s very first professional tech conference for middle school girls.
Kyla has been nationally recognized by Stanford University’s She++ #include program as a 2017 Fellow, awarded the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award from Prudential, and distinguished as a Global Teen Leader under the Three Dot Dash We Are Family Foundation. She plans to study data analytics and cybersecurity in college and go on to work at the intersection of data, security, and business, all the while remaining an advocate for female leadership.
