Each year, U.S. college women enrolled as an undergraduate (at a two- or four-year institution) or a graduate student pursuing a degree in computer science at an NCWIT Academic Alliance (AA) member institution are eligible to receive recognition for their technical contributions to projects that demonstrate a high level of creativity and potential impact. This year, six winners and 12 honorable mentions were selected from more than 60 talented women from more than 25 states, all of whom developed awe-inspiring projects for improving and solving real-world problems in medicine, software systems, personal safety, and more.
Thanks to the generous support of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Qualcomm, each recipient receives an engraved award, up to $10,000 in cash, a trip to the 2017 NCWIT Summit on Women and IT, computing resources, gadgets, sponsor-branded swag, and more.
