- Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is an NCWIT Investment Partner, and their support is integral to the NCWIT Collegiate Award. - AiC Community members at Trinity University in San Antonio are using an NCWIT AspireIT grant to run a Saturday program for middle school girls called the Trinity Encouraging Computing for Her (TECH) camp. Check out this article to see how the camp is providing opportunities for girls to experience coding for the first time!
- AiC Award Recipients Kavya Kopparapu and Kirthi Kumar were among those honored at the WashingtonExec 2018 K-12 STEM Symposium. Both were named STEM Rising Stars for their leadership in creating opportunities for more women to get involved in computing, as well as their own technical contributions. Get the full story here. April Shout Outs
This April, the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing was big news! Local and school-based news outlets celebrated Award for AiC recipients with shout-outs and snapshots from a multitude of regional awards ceremonies. These stories help inspire the next generation of women in computing to keep reaching for their dreams! We spotted: Riya Arora; Daisy Farrell; Julia Defoor; Aarathi Garimella; Jedidiah James; four community members from the El Paso, Texas, region; six community members from Louisiana; nine community members from Michigan; and sixteen community members from Montana!
