Victoria is a driven student and advocate for marine conservation and sustainable engineering. Through a MIT Independent Study and work as a Student Specialist at the University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center, she has developed strong knowledge of the scientific research process, naval construction and marine engineering. Her accomplishments include presenting an trash-removing Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) at the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, winning the Maine Congressional App Challenge with a ocean cleanup app, and researching noise reduction in ship design with a $5,000 Marjot Foundation grant.
Victoria plans to attend college to deepen her studies in naval architecture and marine conservation, aiming to design sustainable ships. She also founded the CodeX2 Computer Programming Club and 'Maiden Maine' sailing event, promoting inclusivity in STEM and sailing. Her goal is to impact the shipping industry with environmentally conscious designs that balance performance with conservation, protecting the ocean for future generations.
