Tae Esperanza C.
Tae is a 12th grader from Tucson, Arizona, who has completed research internships with the Stanford Compression Forum at Stanford University and the Center for Quantum Networks at the University of Arizona. She is currently leading an image segmentation study with a team that includes researchers at the University of Arizona and Carnegie Mellon University. Tae was a member of the 2024 Girls Who Code Student Leadership Council and provided advisory support to the national organization, which has served 670,000 students worldwide. Tae is President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers chapter at her school, and she developed hands-on STEM exhibits demonstrating quantum superposition, generative AI, and other topics featured at free events attended by 107,000 people. She has completed projects in C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, x86 Assembly Language, and Verilog. Tae plans to double major in computer science and physics, and she hopes to spend her career developing quantum technology.
