Meet Namyanzi, a driven and accomplished high school Senior at the CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering. Recently, she received a QuestBridge match to Columbia University to study Industrial Engineering! From a young age, Namyanzi has demonstrated a passion for academic excellence and advocacy for women's health. While competing at the National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo, she showcased her invention, the Bracelet KH, aimed at enhancing the safety of schoolchildren. As a cadet Captain in the Civil Air Patrol, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and dedication, ranking in the top 5% nationwide. Her involvement in the National CyberPatriot Competition is exemplary, with notable victories including 1st Place in the CT Gold Tier and 5th Place in the USA Gold Tier, underscoring her prowess in cybersecurity. Namyanzi excels academically, taking challenging AP courses such as Biology, Chemistry, and Calculus AB. Currently, she is researching ways to produce affordable and sustainable energy to combat energy poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa and India. This initiative reflects her dedication to leveraging her skills and knowledge for the betterment of communities worldwide. Namyanzi is excited about the prospect of making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and marginalized communities through her work in healthcare and research. She envisions herself advocating for equitable education and policy-making while striving to improve outcomes for underserved populations. Looking ahead, Namyanzi aspires to pursue an MD/PhD specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. While volunteering at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, she gains insights into healthcare dynamics. Her goal is to contribute to advancements in women's health, particularly in areas such as pain management, pharmacology, and addressing healthcare disparities. She plans to attend college and engage in research projects that align with her career aspirations. Her future is bright with opportunities to make a lasting impact and contribute to a healthier, more equitable society.
