User's Profile Picture

Sophie D.

Sophie is a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she is studying mathematics, computer science, and chemistry. She's an undergraduate researcher in the Jensen Lab, part of the Machine Learning for Pharmaceutical Discovery and Synthesis Consortium, where she works on computational forward organic synthesis prediction. This work is developed specifically for pharmaceutical applications in collaboration with companies like Merck, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer. Additionally, she works in the McGuire Lab where she is developing generalized models for astrochemical analysis of stellar nurseries. Sophie has been honored as a Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalist and NCWIT AiC Winner for her previous work in computational chemistry and materials science. She developed a machine learning based modeling framework which characterized fundamental properties of heterogeneous catalysis with applications in sustainable energy and drug delivery. In her free time, Sophie sings in the MIT Concert Choir and helps run the Association of Taiwanese Students. She hopes to study computational physical chemistry in graduate school.
