Rianna S.
Rianna is currently a high school senior as of the fall of 2023. In her high school years she has gained experience in computer science while working on school projects and as a research intern. Some of her projects include analyzing different DNA microarray datasets with Bioconductor in R for differentially expressed genes, developing a web app with Node.js, React.js and MySQL to capture volunteering activity of students at her school, creating a study session mobile app with Flutter and Dart to help high schoolers and college students like herself to manage their assignments by generating study schedules, and designing and coding an app with Arduinos that controls a robotic camera mount for wheelchair users. Currently, she is partaking in an internship that uses state-of-the-art Transformers for prognosis of cancer patients. Outside of academics and research, Rianna also teaches math, science and computer programming on her own and at schoolhouse.world as a way to give back to the community. In college, Rianna plans to double major in computer science and math, specializing in artificial intelligence to improve current architectures so AI can be deployed to more use-cases, such as personalizing healthcare for each individual given their biological information, medical history, and genomic data, and other problems for the betterment of humanity.
