Ten years ago "Coach Paul" started the first CyberAegis Team cybersecurity class and competition team at three schools. The team currently has 120 students, consisting of about one-third females, much higher than the national average in this field. The team competes in cybersecurity competitions, including The CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Education Program, which averages over 5,000 teams each year across the U.S., Canada, and 12 other countries; The SoCal CyberCup; and The California Cyber Innovation Challenge held at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The team has won CyberPatriot National Champion in the Open Division four times and Middle School Division National Champions eight times. The team has started working on their own podcast and providing cybersecurity training to elementary schools and senior citizens.
