Marcus J.
Marcus teaches Computer Science and Robotics at The Bishop's School in La Jolla, CA, and chairs the Computer Science Department. He is also co-chair of Creative Sciences, which helps students and teachers see how to use technology, design and interdisciplinary thinking in their work. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University at Albany, NY.
He has worked extensively with Robocup/Robocup Jr, mostly in Social Robotics and Rescue (Disaster Response) Robotics. He has coached four teams that placed in the top 3 at the international Robocup competitions. In Computer Science, he teaches mostly post-AP courses in object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, and computer vision/AI. In Robotics, he teaches and uses a variety of platforms, including Arduino, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson and Dynamixel motor systems.
