Julia G.
Julia is a Computer Science and Applied Math undergrad at Baldwin Wallace University, driven by a passion for Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Mobile Computing, and Sensing research aimed at empowering communities and the environment. Twice awarded the NASA Ohio Space Grant Scholarship for her work on Fine-Grained Air Quality Sensing with Internet-of-Things, Julia has contributed to publications in prestigious venues such as ACM SenSys, ACM RACS, and CCSC Midwest. In recognition of her leadership and success in computing, Julia was recently honored with the largest CIO Tomorrow Student Scholarship. Currently serving as the ACM-W President at Baldwin Wallace University, she actively engages in community outreach through the Computer Science Outreach (CS+) group, teaching computing topics to elementary/middle school students. Additionally, Julia serves as a department editor for the student-run ACM XRDS Magazine, contributing articles that amplify student experiences, development, and inclusivity. She aspires to continue her impactful research in HCI, Mobile, and Sensing as she applies to PhD programs. She envisions returning to mentorship roles and fostering inclusivity, bridging the gap between academia and the broader computing community.
