Helen W.

Helen is a senior at Sunset High School. She has a passion for engineering and has participated in the FIRST program for 6 years. She is the captain, mechanical, and outreach lead of FTC team 12599 Overcharged, where she helps teach and spread STEM education to her local community. She advocates for more opportunities and representation in STEM by founding Sparks of STEM in collaboration with the Portland Metro STEM Hub, bringing interactive learning sessions to over 20 schools across Oregon. She encourages engagement and interest in STEM and inspires the next generation of students. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in robotics and become a role model for girls in STEM!
