Anita G.
Anita is a senior at Ann Arbor Huron High School passionate about applying math and science to research that would advance the field of medicine, as she hopes to one day work as a physician-scientist. As a miRcore biomedical research volunteer, Anita has published research work on COVID-19, depression, and multiple sclerosis. Anita works with the University of Michigan Department of Chemical Engineering synthesizing gold nanoparticles. She loves chemistry, biology, and computer science, and has made USNCO Honors once, USABO Semifinals twice, and ACSL Nationals six times. Anita enjoys writing articles as an editor for Huron's award-winning newspaper, The Emery, and is a leader of Huron’s Ethics Bowl team. Anita loves volunteering and is now a student teacher at the Ann Arbor Math Olympiad Club for the fourth year, where she teaches math and computer science. Anita co-founded A2Aspire, an organization holding free hands-on summer workshops in STEM. She enjoys playing piano, reading, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends.
