The Virginia Community is proud to host the Award for Aspirations in Computing in Virginia. Award recipients will be selected for their aptitude and interest in IT and computing, solid leadership ability, good academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.

This is an annual event at the national and regional level. We encourage women in grades 9-12 to apply each year.

All applications submitted will be reviewed and scored by educators and industry representatives across the country. After the applications are scored, each affiliate then selects winners and honorable mentions. Winners and honorable mentions are high achieving young women, who are being recognized for their excellent academics, volunteer activities, and plans for post-secondary education. 

The goal of the national and regional affiliate programs is to honor girls who are “interested in computing and technology, and encourages them to pursue their passions.”
